1995 November Jointly established through investments by Sony Corporation, Sony Music Entertainment (Japan), Inc., and Sony Finance International, Inc.
1996 January Launched “So-net” Internet connection service.
1997 November Released “PostPet DX” mail software.
1999 October Invested in DeNA Co., Ltd., which develops and operates online auction services.
November Became first Internet service provider to obtain “Privacy Mark” certification.
2000 September Established So-net M3, Inc. (currently M3, Inc.) to design and operate portals for medical professionals.
2002 May Launched “So-net Hikari”, a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) connection service.
2003 June Became first domestic Internet service provider to obtain certification for both international information security management standard BS7799 and domestic ISMS designation standard.
2004 September So-net M3, Inc. (currently M3, Inc.) listed on TSE Mothers.
2005 December Listed on TSE Mothers.
2006 July Established a joint venture, Actvila Corporation, to plan and operate network services for digital TV.
October Changed company name to So-net Entertainment Corporation.
2007 July Established MotionPortrait, Inc. to plan and operate business using "Motion-Portrait" technology.
August Acquired So-net Entertainment Taiwan Limited as a consolidated subsidiary.
November Relocated headquarters to Osaki,Shinagawa-ku,Tokyo.
2008 January Listed on TSE 1st seciton.
April Acquired Gamepot Inc. as a consolidated subsidiary.
July Acquired So-net Media Networks Corporation as a consolidated subsidiary.
November Started offering HD channel “Asia Dramatic TV-HD”.
2009 March So-net Entertainment Taiwan Ltd. (So-net Taiwan) signed a capital/business partnership contract with Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (CHT).
November Concluded agreement to conduct forest preservation activities in cooperation with the Osawa Foundation of Saku City, Nagano Prefecture.
2010 February Acquired the ISP business from USEN CORPORATION.
2011 March Invested in Chorokbaem Media Co., Ltd., one of the largest TV drama producers in Korea.
March Gamepot Inc. signed agreement with Kong Zhong Corporation for China distribution rights for game title “Paperman”.
